Vista out!!!
Windows Vista are near their rtm version (rtm means that they are getting into production and if a serious bug is found it's going to be corrected before the final version). A new version was given to testers (this version will not be available for download to everyone, because it may be the final version). This version comes with a new set of icons, which are very beatiful, is faster and fixes some problems found on rc2. Office 2007 is already in rtm version. In a few days, Microsoft will start shipping Vista and Office 2007 to companies.

Nvidia 8800 is here!!!
MSI announced the release of two new graphics cards based on nvidia's 8800GTX chip. The card names are NX8800GTX-T2D768E and NX8800-T2D640E. Both cards support DircetX 10 and OpenGL 2.0. T2D768E has 768MB of DDR3 memory with 384-bit memory controller (640MB DDR3 with 320-bit controller for T2D640E model), core frequency 575Mhz (500Mhz for T2D640E) and 1800Mhz memory frequency (1600Mhz for T2D640E). Both cards support sli technology, psysics accelaration (Nvidia Quantum effects physics processing technology) and HDR lighting. They support of course dual monitor and they come (as expected) with huge aero-cooling systems. If you plan to buy one of these cards, note that you need at least a 550 Watt power supply (psu), if your pc has the basics plus extra optical drives or hard drives. If you want two of them in sli connection, 700+ Watt psu ise the only way for providing enough power and stability to your system...

Power of quad core!
Super Computing 2006 conference will start on November 11. One week before Intel announced new software for server clusters and offered information about the forthcoming quad- Xeon processors (code name Clovertown). According to Intel 44 quad-core Xeon will deliver 1.8TerraFlops performance (equal to the performance delivered by 9000 Pentium Pro processors!). 9000 Pentium Pro chips consumed 800,000 watts. 44 quad core Intel Xeon have the same performance and consume only 10,000 watts according to Intel. Quad core Xeon (Clovertown) combines two Woodcrest (dual-core Xeon 5100) cores in one package. The core frequencies for the new Xeons are 1.6Ghz-2.66Ghz, FSB from 1066 to 1333Mhz and all of them are powered with 8MB L2 cache.
